Constituency Empowerment : Senator Adeola at it again,as he Cascade surprises on Lagos west senatorial district








The All Progressive Congress, (APC) in Lagos State under the leadership of Hon. Tunde Balogun, has scored the Lagos –West Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola aka Yayi, high on his performance as a representative in the Red Chamber since he was re- elected for the second time.  Others who spoke in similar vein are Pa Rabiu Oluwa, apex leader of Lagos West District, former commissioner in Lagos, Vice chair Lagos West, Chief Ologunde,Hon. Kehinde Bamigbetan, Hon. Ojelade

This commendation came to the Senator at the fourth edition of the Lagos West Senatorial District Town Hall Meeting/ Poverty Alleviation and Empowerment Programme which he organized recently at the Police College Ground, Ikeja.

Balogun said the party is proud of the senator for his good representation in the delivering of dividends of democracy to his constituents.

He said: ‘‘We are proud of you and you have represented us well at the National Assembly and that is a pride and joy to the APC Lagos State”

He also commended him for embarking on construction of roads and water projects across the various communities to meet the yearnings of his constituency, noting that what the senator had provided social amenities that were not his responsibility or function but that of the executive arm of the government.

He said: “This is the biggest and it shows that he is capable of representing   his people. He is giving out equipment such as sewing machines, deep freezers, grounding machines, tricycle, hair dryers and so on. This is wholesome and it must cost a fortune”.


Lauding the senator for remembering his constituents, he implored the beneficiaries to make use of the tools and commercialize them for economic use and gains to improve the quality of their lives.

Pa Afolabi Oluwa, one of the leaders of the party in the Lagos –West, also spoke in similar vein as he heaped praises on the senator for giving back to his constituents, saying what he is doing today is not new  but has been doing it .  

“What Yayi is doing today, is not new. He has always been doing it. You have always given us feedback on what you collected at the NA. So, he has been doing it and what you did today is not new.

He urged other elective officers on the platform of the party from the councilors to assembly and other national legislature to emulate the Lagos-West senator for organizing the Hall meeting in other for their constituents to know their performance in office, adding that they should not wait for two years or end of their tenure when they are seeking for another term before briefing the electorate on their activities.

He noted “we have elected other councilors, assembly members, reps and senators, they should come back and feed us so that we can see what they are doing, and not until when they seek our votes or when it is two years after election to report back to us. We overwhelmingly supported Yayi’s empowerment.

In his address, Senator Adeola who said the empowerment was for 2019 but was delayed till 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic and other activities beyond his control, while assuring that the year 2021 would still be done.

He empowered 1020 constituents and gave out transformers to 28 units of KVA transformers to communities across 10 LGAs of the Lagos-West Senatorial District.


Among other items he distributed are refrigerators, sewing machines, grinding machines, hair dryers, clipper sterilizers, deep freezers, tricycles and vulcanizing machines.

Earlier, he said he had facilitated 14 solar powered boreholes and water treatment in six local governments namely; Ileja, Ifako-Ijaye Agege, Oshodi –Isolo and Alimosho, adding that  water projects are located in population centres such as markets and  residential areas.   Other things, he said he had facilitated include one week training for over 147 teachers to be online compliant, donation of
two HP computers laptops to the authorities of 36 selected schools for the purpose of training in online teaching and empowering 60 selected students with laptops.

While also providing the supply of 750 prefabricated chairs and tables in 13 public nursery and primary schools within his senatorial district,   he also facilitated the construction and installation of a multi – million naira information, communication and technology,ict, centres in Ikotun Senior Secondary schools and Muslim college, Egbe etc.

As part of his desire to develop the human resources in his Senatorial district, he trained hundred of constituents in rural riverine areas in different aspects of fish production: businesss, feed making and boat operations for over one month and they were equipped and giving grants to commence business activities
