Boxing is a popular sport which deals with the combat of two people, usually wearing protective gloves, throwing punches at each other for a predetermined amount of time in a boxing ring. Boxing is overseen by a referee over a series of one-to-three-minute intervals called rounds.

This year alone, Africans have been dominating worldwide in the boxing tournaments which obviously is a good thing with many youngster aspiring to be professionals in the sport.

In this article I will be showing you an Igbo Boxer whose love for Igbo culture and boxing seems unbreakable. Read till end and be amazed!

Chukwuyekwu Trouble Igbokwe with the Twitter handle @troubleralpho defeated Genc Pllana from Albania in a boxing match in Houston to become the Texas Super-middleweight champion. Making him a double champion in Middleweight and Super-middleweight.

The 28-year-old boxer with the nickname"Trouble" was born in Houston Texas making him a citizen of the united states although his parents and ancestral background is from Nigeria, Enugu to be precised. 

The youngster always have his mother pray for him anytime he has a fight. Chukwuyekwu Igbokwe knees before his mother holding her hands while she says a prayer for him before he goes on the ring.

That's not all, The Igbo warrior, Chukwuyekwu Ralph Igbokwe, aka TROUBLE, is reputed for wearing isiagụ regalia (Igbo traditional attire for men) in company of masquerade whenever he goes to the ring, thereby promoting Igbo cultures in far away land, Houston Texas.

He is a native of Enugu-ukwu in Anambra state.

Culture is very important as it defines your way of life. Where ever you find yourself always remember your cultural background and be proud of it like Chukwuyekwu Igbokwe.
